Exhibiting Tips: When there is more than one entry in an exhibit, judging is done according to uniformity, condition, form and colour, size and distinction

Miscellaneous Produce:
1st prize only of $10 awarded in the following categories:
- Best extreme example of largest and smallest vegetable, same type. Examples of two tomatoes from your garden, cherry and beefsteak (no pumpkins or squash)
- One braid of garlic or onions 15 inches in length
- Largest spanish onion
- Biggest cabbage, red or white, by weight
- Most unusual shaped vegetable
- Largest single potato, any variety
- Most pods on a stalk of soyabeans
Specials:
- Harvest Basket of Local Fruit and Vegetables: No more than 20 different fruits or vegetables displayed in a basket. Arrangement to be no larger than 30 x 24 inches. Judged on colour, variety and presentaion. 1st - $15, 2nd - $10, 3rd - $5 Sponsored by Van Brenk Fruit Farm
- Vegetable Art: Make a creation from any of the items in Classes 5, 6, and 7 using the current fair theme. Use your own interpretation of the theme. Size is to be no larger than 4 x 4 feet and height of no maximum. Judged on creativity and best use of farm products to convey your interpretation. Have fun with it! 1st - $30, 2nd - $25, 3rd - $20
- Yard Art: Take old discarded items found around the farm and transform it into whimsical yard art. Example: old metal sprockets, bicycle tires, tin cans, pieces from old machinery and make it into a welcome sign or statuette. Pieces must be secure and can be welded if possible. The more creative, the better. 1st - $50, 2nd - $30, 3rd - $20
- Farmer's Best Friend - Duct Tape Art: Your version of Red Green's extreme use of duct tape. Let your imagination soar. Create an item or piece of "art" no larger than 2 feet in any direction. 1st - $20, 2nd - $15, 3rd - $10
Young Farmers:
This class is aimed at enticing young farmers in our community to take pride in their agricultural roots. Entrants must be 21 or under to be eligible. Age and date of birth must be posted on the entry tag.
- Best sheaf of 7 stalks of soybeans sponsored by the Elgin County Soybean Committee. 1st - $30, 2nd - $25, 3rd - $20, 4th - $15, 5th - $10, 6th - $5
- 5 ears of corn, any variety. 1st - $7, 2nd - $5, 3rd - $3
- 5 stalks of corn, any variety. 1st - $7, 2nd - $5, 3rd - $3
- Weed Collection. Six weeds, named, in no larger than a 5 gallon pail. 1st - $7, 2nd - $5, 3rd - $3
- Alternative fuel source display: Describe an alternative fuel source from an agricultural product listing cost, benefits to the environment, to the farmer and consumer. THe display is to be no larger than bristol board size using pictures or products themselves. The entry can be mounted or placed on a table. Quality, arrangement, originality and educational nature to count. 1st - $25, 2nd - $20, 3rd - $10
